On August 20, in the village of Krasylivka of the Tysmenytsia community, the funeral of Hero Ivan Zanyk, who died in the fight for Ukraine, was held.
The Tysmenytsia City Council reported this.
Before the farewell ceremony, residents of the neighboring villages of Markivka, Odai, and Stari Kryvotuly formed a human chain on their knees to honor the fallen defender.
The leadership of the Tysmenytsia community, the district starost, relatives, friends, and concerned residents came to see Ivan Zanyk off.
Ivan Mykhailovych Zanyk, born on July 3, 1986, in a large family in the village of Krasylivka, joined the defense of Ukraine in 2022. He served as a soldier and senior sapper of the 1st Engineer Division of the Engineer Platoon of the 49th Separate Assault Battalion “Carpathian Sich” of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ivan Zanyk defended the country in the directions of Liman, Bakhmut, and Kupyansk.
He was heroically killed on August 16, 2024, near the village of Nelipivka, Bakhmut district, Donetsk region, fighting Russian aggression.
His family and numerous fellow villagers came to say goodbye to Ivan Zanyk, who recognized his courage and dedication. The community shares the pain of loss and honors the memory of the hero who gave his life for the peace and independence of Ukraine.
Ivan is survived by two sons, his wife, his mother, brothers, and sisters.
