Tragedy on the Mukachevo-Lviv highway: two people died in an accident

A fatal accident occurred near Tyazev: two cars collided, and two people died.

This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region.

On August 19, at 12:07 a.m., a serious accident involving a Skoda and an Opel occurred on the H-09 Mukachevo-Lviv highway in the Yamnytsia community. The collision killed two people and injured two others.

The rescuers who arrived at the scene of the accident carried out a complex operation to unblock the victims. They pulled the dead out of the mangled cars and helped rescue two injured people. To prevent possible fires, the rescuers also disconnected the vehicle battery terminals.

A total of 18 rescuers and four units of SES equipment were working at the scene.

The circumstances of the accident are currently being investigated by law enforcement officers, who are investigating the causes of the collision. According to preliminary information, the drivers failed to keep a safe distance or violated traffic rules.

Residents have expressed concern about this stretch’s poor visibility and road conditions, hoping for urgent measures to improve road safety.
